Progress Learning’s platform creates a seamless and robust K-12 solution for students, teachers, and district-level school administrators with engaging content and a comprehensive set of product offerings. The web-based platform can be accessed from any web-enabled device, including tablets and smartphones, and provides state and national standard-aligned assignments and assessments, personalized learning, remediation, adaptive intervention, and progress monitoring.

School districts nationwide use Progress Learning as a powerful assessment tool to gauge students’ performance. The platform’s data-driven formative assessments and diagnostic testing tools allow teachers to monitor student mastery across all standards and determine the right learning paths for individual students or entire classrooms.

Progress Learning was formed in 2022 through the merger of USATesprep, Education Galaxy, and Horizon Education and was recently added to the “Great Places to Work” list. They employ over 100 people and  while many members of the sales team work from the home office in Richardson, Texas,  Progress Learning has embraced a remote work environment.

Opportunity

The Head of Sales will report to the CEO and be responsible for generating revenue from new customers. This leader brings a playbook to open up new territories. The new sales leader is dedicated to growing the skills of the people on their team and helping them upgrade and grow their careers. The sales organization currently has 12 account executives and 10 business development representatives (with more to be hired), managed by two senior directors. 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Increase company revenues with a focus on new business
  • Develop and execute a plan to grow in new states and new school districts
  • Implement a repeatable, scalable, whole-funnel revenue maximization model
  • Attract, recruit, coach, motivate and lead a high-performing team
  • Work with executive leadership to craft strategy and shape the future of the company

Ideal Candidate

You understand and have experience in sales, sales ops, forecasting, analytics, and elevating team capabilities. You’ve created a strategic plan for revenue growth that you can iterate and evolve for Progress Learning. You’re looking for a highly-influential position in a fast pace and fast-growing company.

You should have the following experiences and skill sets:

  • Track record of hiring, motivating, and coaching a team of high-performing sales and account professionals
  • A track record of success in the education field and understanding of and experience in the K-12 sales cycle with particular expertise in district sales
  • Experience leading and inspiring teams and customers through change.
  • A mindset of accountability, collaboration, and values-driven leadership.
  • Exemplary leadership skills at all levels of the organization
