The Changing Focus of Education Foundations In The Pandemic

By May 11, 2020Podcast

Todd Hand sits down with Elizabeth Garlow of the Lumina Foundation, and Marc Sternberg of the Walton Family Foundation to discuss the changing focus of education foundations. They open with a discussion about how things that were true before the pandemic are only amplified now. Communities and school districts that were in need before the pandemic are even more so now. Elizabeth and Marc talk about a potential for a two or three generation learning approach, and how remote learning environments can work for not only children, but also parents and even grandparents. They discuss what the Lumina Foundation and the Walton Family Foundation are seeing from the demographics of students they service currently and make predictions towards what the future holds for them.
