Minerva Project – Nurturing Critical Wisdom for the Sake of the World
Founded in 2011 by Ben Nelson, Minerva Project is a pathbreaking educational innovator, preparing exceptional, lifelong learners to address the most complex challenges of our time. Minerva’s mission, to nurture critical wisdom for the sake of the world, is being pursued through its flagship university and key strategic partnerships across the learning journey.
Built to deliver educational design and innovation, Minerva Project’s comprehensive approach integrates the science of learning with advanced digital technology to prepare learners for the rapidly changing nature of work and society. The approach includes three educational pillars—interdisciplinary curricula, fully active learning, and outcomes-based assessment—enabled by Forum™ Minerva’s proprietary virtual learning environment.
Minerva is focused on creating partnerships to deliver improved outcomes for learners around the world and at various stages. Through an adoption of Minerva Project’s methodology and supported by its advisory services, learners will internalize improved ways of thinking and behaving, gaining enduring skills in key areas: critical thinking and decision making; creative problem solving; effective collaboration and teamwork; clear, persuasive communication; and informed global citizenship.

Opportunity
The Chief Business Officer and General Manager will implement and refine Minerva Project’s growth strategy across its two verticals: High School/Secondary School, and Higher Education/Post-Secondary School. The CBO & GM will aggressively build Minerva Project’s brand equity by establishing clear strategic plans, and actionable initiatives for the global Business Development, Marketing, and Communications teams to identify and secure new strategic partnerships. A key component is to maintain and promote the sanctity of the comprehensive offering: instructional design, curriculum design, instructor training & certification, learning assessment & impact measurement.
The CBO & GM will bring to fruition Minerva’s goal to be recognized as the premier leader of a global educational reform movement, which can only be achieved by significantly increasing both awareness of Minerva’s current brand positioning, as well as the number and size of partnerships to scale impact. The essential challenge is to bring a complex and unconventional offering to two interconnected market verticals, while building toward a long-term vision, balancing revenue targets and partnership development with audience perception and reputation management.
