The Opportunity

Teachstone seeks an experienced and dynamic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to succeed their co-founder and lead the company forward into a scaled, tech-enabled education solution-provider. The ideal candidate is highly strategic, with a record of success in scaling businesses, particularly in combining education and technology. This individual will be a proven leader in technology or education, with a deep understanding of industry trends and a passion for making a positive impact on students and educators. They will be responsible for driving the company’s ambitious growth goals while maintaining and enhancing their mission-driven culture.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a strategic vision that capitalizes on Teachstone’s success in early childhood education and drives growth in the K-12 market.
    • Integrate technology into services, positioning Teachstone as a leader in tech-enabled education solutions.
    • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities and emerging trends
    • Integrate diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging into long-term strategy to ensure educators have the skills to ensure all children reach their full potential
  • Operational Excellence: Optimize operations for scalability and efficiency, ensuring that increasing demand is met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and impact.
    • Manage and mentor the Officer team to foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, equity, and innovation.
  • Cultural Stewardship: Build upon Teachstone’s mission-driven culture, fostering an environment that supports innovation, collaboration, and equity. Continue to drive dedication to improving educational outcomes.
    • Model and foster a commitment to DEI, leading an inclusive, and high-performing culture internally and externally
  • Customer Focus: Lead with a customer-centric approach, understanding the needs of educators, students, and administrators, and driving the development of solutions that address their challenges and build upon their assets.
  • Financial Management: Steward the company’s financial health, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability while making strategic investments in future opportunities.
  • Product and Technology Oversight: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in product development and delivery.
    • Ensure alignment of product development with market needs and customer feedback, drive innovation and cutting-edge technology solutions.
  • Board and Governance: Collaborate with the board to refine strategic direction and implement governance practices that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

 Ideal Candidate

You are a transformational leader of a K12 education company, preferably with early education experience. You have a track record of successful executive leadership, P&L management, revenue growth, operational excellence, and program improvement/expansion. Moreover, you skilfully lead all members of an organization, inspiring them to scale a company’s solutions, and driving for results than ensure all educators benefit from Teachstone’s solutions.

You should have the following experiences and skill sets:

  • Education Sector Expertise: Deep understanding of the challenges, opportunities, and trends in Early Childhood and K-12 education, including academic achievement, student support services, and professional development for teachers.
  • M&A: Experience in leading the acquisition and integration of strategic tuck-ins as well as transformative acquisitions, preferably in the education sector.
  • Go-to-Market Strategist: Creator and driver of successful GTM strategies that increased impact, and revenue of EdTech products
  • Business Acumen: Strong business and financial acumen, with a demonstrated ability to develop sustainable revenue streams, manage budgets, and drive organizational growth.
  • Operations Excellence: Track record of managing multi-site services across geographies
  • Impact Orientation: A genuine passion for making a positive impact on students’ academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development, along with a commitment to equity and educational access
  • Technology use in education: A developed perspective on the selection, invention, and implementation of technological advances that drive efficiencies, impacts, and scale in the education sector.
